Tuning in:

The mini program

Can't trust your hunger & fullness cues to guide your eating?

Steal the emotional eating rewiring framework take my VIP clients from stuffing down feelings with food to finally understanding your needs and responding with compassion instead of criticism.

Tuning In Program

A workshop series that will teach you how to actually FEEL your hunger and fullness, and use it to eat with confidenc, without the chaos

If you had to put your finger on why your relationship with food is... complicated, it's probably because:

You can't hear your body.

Or (scarier) you don't trust what's saying

You eat, and you're still hungry

Or you're not hungry at all, but you eat anyway — and you couldn't really tell you why if someone asked.

You'll eat everything if you "listen to your body"

Intuitive eating sounds great in theory. But every time you try it, it feels like code for "lose all control."

You are "full" on the scale, but still want to eat

You finally feel you reach "7" or "comfortably full", yet, you don't want to stop because of the taste

Emotional eating isn't about willpower, self-control or eat healthier - but a set of skills you can learn

And so you keep swinging between control and overeating

...but what if you could actually feel the difference between "I need food" or "I want food" - and use that to guide your eating instead of willpower or portion size?

  • What if you could sit down to a meal and genuinely know when you'd had enough?

  • What if eating felt settled instead of chaotic?

  • What if you didn't need a meal plan, a calorie tracker, or a set of rules to feel in control?

hey, I'm Malcolm!

I'm a Binge Eating Dietitian, Intuitive Eating Counsellor and Body Image Coach

And here's what I want you to know: I've been exactly where you are. For more than 13 years, I lived with Binge Eating Disorder and felt my body being completely out of control:

Constantly wandering into kitchen even not hungry

Eat until you feel physically uncomfortable, then beat yourself up about it for hours

Try every "healthy lifestyle" and diet trick in the book, only to end up right back in the cycle.

Now as a binge eating dietitian, I worked with people who've spent years convinced their body cues were broken because they "love food too much" or "built differently". That intuitive eating was for people with more willpower or a calmer relationship with food.

And yet, what happens with my clients is perfect evidence to debate to this thinking.

And I'm guiding your way to re-discover balance within your body in this workshop series.

Malcolm Tang - binge eating dietitian, eating disorder dietitian, help you to stop binge eating emotional eating and overeating. Melbourne, Australia

Here's nobody tell you about eating for your body cues:

It's not just about hunger and fullness.

It's about restoring your ability to understand what your body actually needs, and that changes everything.

The truth about emotional eating: You've conditioned yourself to use food as emotional first aid

It's not eating with willpower, but to build interoceptive awareness

Introceptive awareness is your ability to detect and interpret your body's internal siganl - e.g. needs to go bathroom, fatigue, sleepy. It's not an approach, but a inborn skill of human got lost in diet culture.

Truth about emotional eating: Your nervous system is looking for relief

Hunger-fullness is just the beginning

When you build the skill to sense hunger-fullness and hence interoceptive awareness, you don't just get better at eating, but able to tune into your body's needs. And feeling out of control around food? That's often a result of unmet needs.

Truth about emotional eating: You're trying to STOP the behavioural, not the ROOT

Missing piece that makes intuitive eating work

Most people jump right into "eat wheat you want, when you want" and wonder why it goes out of control. Because without introceptive awareness, healthy eating intuitively is just a guesswork.

"It sounds interesting, but why do I need it?"

I get it. You've probably tried, been told or genuinely believed:

  • Your hunger can't be trusted, when you eat according to your body cues, things will spiral out of control

  • Intuitive eating is for people who have self control and don't binge.

  • Hunger-fullness cues aren't reliable, it's strongly influenced by emotion, state of mind and self-control.

But here's what actually happens when you rebuild your interoceptive awareness:

  • You have evidence to tell the differences between physical and emotional hunger. Or physical + emotional hunger

  • Fullnees becomes something you can feel before food fills to the throat, and it gives the foundation to learn to stop

  • Intuitive eating becomes a science. Because you have access to all the body-based data to guide choice - whether it's by preference or by nourishment.

And that's exactly what I'm teaching you

What our clients think

I love all your workshops - they are so practical and resourceful, yet, not overwhelming. I'm able to follow along and see a real shift in my eating patterns and mindset.

I never thoughts I had problem with my hunger-fullness awareness. I always thouht it was just an appetite dysregulation. It changes how I approach eating and food by learning about my body's cues.

I love how you explained hunger-fullness and break down ways our bodies communicate it. I have so much more clarity (on body cues) by knowing my unique cues.

TBH, I didn't think it was neccessary to learn about hunger-fullness. But after I can notice my signs for true hunger - I can tell the difference between hunger and a mental craving.

Eating intuitively helped me ditch my meal plan and still know what to eat and feel in control.

  • Stop feeling disconnected or time flies when you eat

You'll learn how to stay tuned in WHILE you eat, so you can feel how different foods impact your fullness and satisfaction; so you can see how you feel gradually fuller and more satisfied during a meal.

  • You can tell if you NEED or WANT to eat; and WHAT, WHEN and HOW MUCH to eat

When you stay in touch with your hunger-fullness sense, you know whether your cravings are physical or mental. If it's physical, you can use your body cues to guide what food will satisfy you, when you need to eat and if you need a meal or a snack

Still have questions?

HERE'S WHAT YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING...

Do I have to attend live?

If you can, please come along, you will get the most out of the guided exercises and activities as well as asking your questions in real time. But if life gets in the way, the recording will be uploaded to the Tuning In hosting portal which you have lifetime access to within 2 days so you won't miss out.

What if I can't make one of the sessions?

No problem at all! The recording of the session will be uploaded within 48 hours after the session to the hosting platform which you have lifetime access to. You can also send in a question in the portal to get your questions answered. The homework prompt and resources will be provided in the portal as well so you can still follow the progression even if you miss 1-2 live.

How long do I have access to the recording

Lifetime. By signing up to Tuning In, you will have access to the recording in Binge Free Dietitian course portal. You can come back whenever you need a refresher.

How much do I need to do between sessions?

Not much. If you do the activities and guided practice in the session (live or watching recording), you should have an action plan planned out and skills to practice. The homework is designed to be intergrated into your everyday eating: e.g. session 1 will help you to plan out your meal which you can take to buy groceries, session 2 homework require ~2 minutes to reflect before/after a meal, and session 3 skills and homework helps you decide when you go grocery shopping.

Is homework a must? Can I still attend the next session without finishing homework?

Although it's built into the program and highly recommended, everything in the program, including homework, is open invitation.

You can definitely able to keep up with what we are talking about in the session without finishing the homework in the last session.

For some people, they learn best following along. But for some other, they learn best by practisign after seeing the whole picture and know where they are heading too. This program will suit both learning styles.

Is there any one-on-one support included?

Not in this program, but there's dedicated Q&A time in each session to ask your questions. You can also send in questions through the course portal and get them answered.

However, we can't answer questions that requires an extensive assessment to understand your situations. So, if you want further 1:1 support after/alongside with the program, feel free to send in an inquiry.

I've tried intuitive eating before and it didn't work for me.

That's a really common experience from a misconception: you can start eating intuitively anytime. It doesn't work usually because hunger-fullness cues aren't fully restored first. Of course you can't trust your body when the signals from your body is confusing. That's exactly what we are doing in this program - build the foundation to trust your body around eating and eat intuitively.

What if I can't feel my hunger and fullness at all?

And this is exactly what it's built for. Years in my practice, I've worked with so many people rely on calorie tracker, meal plan, alarm clock because their body cues are confusing. I've condensed the step-by-step method to restore hunger-fullness cues in session 1, then we will explore different ways body communicates hunger-fullness-satisfaction in session 2; and finally utilise them in session 3.

Is it relevant if I'm on GLP-1 medication or living with ADHD?

Yes, it's really important to being able to pick up subtle signs of body needs when you are living with ADHD, or taking ozempic or dexi. Mismatch of nourishment and body signals can often lead to side effects, medication not working as expected and slip into the binge-restrict trap.

That's why in session 1, we are building a meal structure that not only help restoring body signal, but a strong foundation to nourishing when your body cues are confusing and recovering from binge & emotional eating.

And in session 2, we will explore signs of hunger and fullness that's not just "feeling" - but also thoughts, behaviours and physical senses.

If you still have doubt, use the button below to send in your concerns.

Your question isn't here?

BUT REALLY...

Could this be any more of a no-brainer?

it's totally possible your body tells you exactly what, when and how much to eat

Stop treating your body as an appetite enemy, and start
